This blog is a rambling and reflective journal of our long and emotional journey to adopt our daughter, Tya, from China. We welcome you to join us, support us and enjoy this momentous occassion with us. Why Tya as a name you may ask? Tyendinaga was the name of the reserve where Jeff grew up...so Tya for short.

What is the hold up?
Hee hee...I am so touched that so many people are wondering where the baby is...did I have him/her yet?...not yet. I will keep you all posted...I LOVE the countdown suggestion Stephanie and I love it even better that you were doing it for me. Thanks :0). I am so not good at that, keeping track. So the news is that I am going to have my water broke tomorrow...(is that too much info.?) If that doesn't work and I get the feeling from my Obgyn (who is awesome and amazing, so sweet...the very best) that I will probably have to go for a c-section on Tuesday am...bright and early and by all accounts I have heard that usually the babies are born about 8 am on the c-section day as long as there isn't a long wait for the OR or any complications. I had to have a c-section for Savannah so I knew all along that this was a possibility but I decided to give myself a week past my due date and see what happened this time around and my OBGYN was very supportive of whatever decision I made. I asked Jeff if I could bring my laptop into the hospital, he said I could but he didn't think there was internet connection. I am going to anyway and if it doesn't work I may get my sister to try for me, she is pretty savy with the computer and she lives super close to the hospital. Thanks again for all the concern and kind words I could feel the love across the internet... I hope and pray for a healthy baby. I will be in touch.

Hi Jen,
Ooohhhh, I am so excited with the baby's name, Kennah. Beautiful!
Very unique, Jen. You have an 'ay' theme for the 3 girlies!
Hope you are doing well, as well as the rest of the fam.
Love you,
Angie xo
Ohhh Jenn I love the name Kannah!! I too noticed the "ah" in the names...Savannah, Kennah, and
Tya(h)....I think the "h" needs to be added to Tya...lol!!!
Hope all is well and cant wait to see a picture of little Kennah!!!
CONGRATS....
Hey Jen, Jeff, and Savannah,
Congratulation on the safe arrival of your beautiful daughter. Wishing you all the best.
Julie
Jennifer, Jeff and Savannah welcomed the newest addition to our family on Tuesday morning, February 13th at 9:08 am. A beautiful 8 lbs 8.6 oz baby girl! Kennah Jean Kateri Brant was 21.5 inches long and has lots of black hair, just like her big sister did when she was born! Savannah is just glowing with pride over her new baby sister!
The name was a tough choice for them (as you can tell by the number of names!) - actually Kennah was chosen for obvious reasons tied to Jen's maiden name, as well as for the fact that it is an Irish word derived from 'kennice' meaning beautiful. The name Jean is after Jeff's grandmother that raised him and Kateri is the name of the native american Kateri Tekakwitha, Flower of the Algonguins and cannonized holy person. All very meaningful and so appropriate!
Jen had a very long night after having her water broken at 11 am on Monday, but she did amazing and was determined to not have a C-Section! They are all doing well.
Thanks to everyone for your concern, emails, calls and posts! I'm sorry Jen didn't teach me how to post so I don't know how to put pictures up, but stay tuned as Jen's getting home Saturday and will likely post just as soon as she can get online!
Proud Godmomma Sheri Lee
Hope you guys are doing well...still thinking about you!
Natalie
