This blog is a rambling and reflective journal of our long and emotional journey to adopt our daughter, Tya, from China. We welcome you to join us, support us and enjoy this momentous occassion with us. Why Tya as a name you may ask? Tyendinaga was the name of the reserve where Jeff grew up...so Tya for short.

13 Months- June 19th!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We have now been logged in 13 months and the wait continues for Tya. Last month a lady from my travel group contacted our agency and was told it would probably be at least another years wait for us from May...and so it continues the long wait, the uncertainty, the unknown, the unpredictable. However, one thing I know for certain is that Tya is our destiny...just as Savannah and Kennah are as well. Savannah's middle name is Destinée...Jeff's choice as he felt that 12 years ago she was our destiny...and so our journey to our destination...our destiny... continues.
Thirteen things to do while waiting:
1. read and learn more about China, adoption and babies in general
2. shop for lots of girl things
3. start exercising again
4. enjoy every minute with Savannah and Kennah
5. spend quality time with Jeff....more dates
6. get all 100 pieces of material for Tya's quilt
7. work on Tya's scrapbook
8. learn more about my computer, dropshots, video and picture taking
9. go to some peichinaadopt gatherings
10. get some housecleaning, decorating, organizing etc; done
11. read
12. relax
13. take up a new hobby...yeah right, but I needed a number 13

Happy 13th!!!! I know what you mean about this long, endless wait! Still, you sound like you have lots to keep you busy....:-)
I feel sometimes like it is getting harder and harder. We are "close" and yet at the same time so far away.
Congrats on 13 months, Jen. You're doing an amazing job hanging in there...you know we're always here for a regular dose of China girl time!! We love you.
Happy 13th Jen. Great list.
Your right she is your destiny, no matter what the wait time frame looks like we are in it for the long haul.
I had a plesant suprise yesterday! I went to Sobies for a few things and a tour bus pulled in at the same time, the bus was full of Chinese tourists and TONS of little ones!!! I stayed in the store as long as I could!!! Then as I was going threw the check out one of the cashiers started to talk mandarin to the couple behind me! (apparently she used to work at one of the Chinese rest. in town) I was impressed! I told her she would have to teach me a new word every time I go in.
I love your # 4 and 5.
